• Cooperation in Vietnam

    Education and Training cooperation

    - From 2002 to 2012, Faculty of Geography cooperated with Can Tho University of Technologies to open two undergraduate courses in Environmental Geography and Tourism Geography. About 350 students have graduated from these courses.

    - From 2005 to 2012, Faculty of Geography also cooperated with Nha Trang College of Education to open two undergraduate courses in Environmental Geography and Tourism Geography. Approximately 200 students have graduated from these courses.

    - From 2012-2015, in cooperation with the Department of Education and Training, Dong Thap Province, we have delivered training courses in the reforms of teaching methods in geography for high school teachers in Dong Thap Province.

     Research cooperation

    - In 2006, Faculty of Geography signed a contract with Enda Vietnam (an NGO) to conduct a survey on environmental awareness of teachers and students in high schools in Ho Chi Minh City.

    - From 2014 – 2016, Faculty of Geography cooperated with the Ho Chi Minh City Environmental Protection Agency (HEPA) to conduct the research in assessing the effectiveness of the environmental awareness raising programs in Ho Chi Minh City. This research is a component of the Environmental Pollution Reduction Program from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Ho Chi Minh City.

    - In October 2018, Faculty of Geography and Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve (CGMBR) signed an MoU of a cooperation framework. Thus, the two institutes will cooperate in conducting research related to sustainable conservation of the mangrove forest which ensure the achievement of sustainable ecological protection, sustainable people livelihood, and appropriate social policies. Faculty of Geography will organize short training courses in GIS and Natural Resource Management for researchers and staffs of CGMBR upon requests. In turn, the Management Board of CGMBR will support lecturers and students from the Faculty of Geography in fieldtrips at the mangrove forest.
